I love games of chance. I am fortunate enough to have the funds to play them, and I am grateful for that. It does help that I have a lot of lucky streaks when I am playing too. I don’t always win, but I don’t always lose either, so it really does work out for me. I used to go to casinos and play, but I broke my leg last year and was not able to get out as easily. I did not let that stop me though! I did a search for main poker online because I know that there are a lot of legitimate poker sites for people like me who enjoy playing from the comfort of their own homes. Since the beginning of time, music has been used as an expression of cultural identity. Ancient tribal societies used music as a foundation for gatherings and to express their history, ethnicity, and cultural beliefs. Music has changed throughout the ages, but the use of music as an essential part of cultural and individual expression has changed very little.
Music’s integral connection to identity is often difficult to recognize, especially in today’s society where music may not be viewed as being as message-oriented as it once was. There were times when entire generations or cultures of individuals each knew the same songs. During World War II, entire nations of people sang songs that expressed their national identity with their cause and their connection to their fighting forces. Again, with the protest songs of the 1960’s and 1970’s, the people of the nation explored their feelings about war, youth, and racial unrest. And, as music as a form of expression has grown, different individuals within the same society have come to identify with varying forms of music as their own individual expression of self.
Although music may not be as blatantly descriptive as the songs of decades past, music speaks to the individual in the same way that the individual speaks through music. A nation of parents sat perplexed as their children became entranced by the sounds of rock and roll, and now there are as many types of music to identify with as there are generational cliques to adapt the musical message. Parents are still perplexed by youth who dress like Britney Spears and Eminem and who use language expressed in song. The addition of music videos has also added a note to self-expression through music that wasn’t present until the last few years. Unlike past generations, today’s youth can see how the music is being expressed and can identify visually with their chosen genre. Television and the internet have also allowed international peoples to share their cultures through music.
Whether music is viewed as being an influence on youth or as being influenced by youth, is still secondary to the fact that it has always been present as a socializing factor. Whether that socialization takes place as a part of a group membership or as a way to express individuality, there is no way to ignore the fact that the influence and expression of music expands as the world community shares more of its musical styles. People may find that music speaks to them in a certain way, moves them in a certain way, or that they identify with its message. People may also find that they can use music to express themselves as individuals as well as to conform to a group. Doubtless, music and its connection to individual and group identity will take on new forms as people continue to be exposed to varying forms of music and culture.
When children are young, it is easy to control the type of music they listen to. Mostly, children listen to what the parents do. Parents may choose to listen to music written specifically for kids, but at other times, the family may listen to whoever set the stereo station last.
The question becomes: Is Rock music safe for children?
Nearly all the best-selling albums of all time are Rock. But is this ‘rebellious’ genre of music having a positive or negative impact on children and society?
As with just about every subject, there are many pros and cons.
The fact is: Rock is a form of art that promotes creativity and expression. Many songs have very poetic lyrics and send off great messages to people. A big message sent through music these days is world change.
In 1985, Live Aid was put on by many rock musicians from Black Sabbath to U2. It raised over 232 million dollars for famine relief in Ethiopia and was inspired by the song ‘The Tide is Turning’ by Roger Waters of Pink Floyd.
Even today, many bands put on benefits for a plethora of causes. Several bands have toured in Iraq to perform for our troops overseas. Also many rock benefit concerts were put on to raise money after the 9-11 attacks, Hurricane Katrina, and the 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake.
Bands also promote Christianity in their music, especially in today’s day and age. Popular bands, such as P.O.D., Flyleaf, Pillar, and many others, widely and openly promote religion through their music. And other bands, such as Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle, subtly promote it through their poetic and abstract lyrics.
Looking at their generosity of both their talent and money, it is clear that many Artists have chosen to spread joy. Are there other benefits?
Music in general, as well as Rock, can inspire children to pick up a healthy hobby of playing music. Learning an instrument helps a child find a form of creativity they can express in an unimaginable amount of ways. Even if they aren’t going to become the next icon, enjoying music can often grant the listener or player an outlet for emotional issues or traumatic events as life progresses.
However, much like all good things, inevitably, you will also find the bad.
Many artists express their feelings through morbid and perverse metaphors and talk about dark taboo subjects. These artists have a breathtaking talent that people should be open to, but they are simply not for children.
Parental advisories can’t always be trusted. For instance, the songs ‘Digital Bath’ and ‘Lhabia’ by Deftones talks about a daydream of grisly melancholic acts, acted out of boredom. This album has no parental advisory on it at all. Yet, that same band has songs against drugs, racism, and other positive influences, but is also not for young children.
As much as the R.I.A.A. tries to help, they are not the parents of America.
As our children start to discovery their own taste in music, parents need to monitor the content and words. Maybe your child has found a singer or band that they really like. You have listened to the song and approve. Make sure when you buy that CD though, you carefully listen to all of the songs or simply purchase the one song that you approved.
Rock seems to be the most controversial but it also has many positive influences that should be taken in to consideration. There are some negatives that come with it, and those should be filtered out by the parents.
As a family and society, we do not want record companies, or anyone else for that matter, to decide what we feel is appropriate or not. We enjoy the privilege of making that decision. We do appreciate their input, hence the labeling. But, when it comes down to it, we are the parents; we will take responsibility for what our children are plugging in their ears.
So, the next time your child wants to listen to a song they like, instead of immediately refusing, listen with both ears. You will learn much of what your child likes and dislikes. You will gain insight into the thinking of your child. You will also learn what to absolutely deny your child.
I was looking for some Snapchat filters for a birthday party I was throwing, but the results were pretty lackluster. The ones that were already available on Snapchat looked so boring. It was like someone’s grandmother designed those filters. I knew there had to be some way to get better Snapchat filters online. Someone else had the same thought I did and made a website where people can actually purchase new filters upon demand. I had just the idea for a new filter that would be seen by all of the party guests.
Once I selected the filter and purchased it, I began making preparations. The filter was used as a form of a digital invitation on my Snapchat account. Everyone would be able to see when the party was happening and where just by looking at the the filter. Continue reading “A Party with New Filters”
I wanted to buy a new towel holder for my bathroom. The one I had had broken, and I was tired of just leaving my towel laying around in there. I am the type of person who has a place for everything, so it was driving me a bit bonkers to not have a towel holder. I started looking at a couple of different online stores, and that is how I Found a narrow small towel radiator that I absolutely fell in love with. My entire purpose was just to find a towel holder that would keep my towels off the sink or the back of the toilet.
What I found instead was a towel holder that will hold my towels nice and neat, but with such an added bonus to it. Continue reading “A Nice Towel Radiator for My Home”
I am a man who is able to take a lot of pain. I have went through several rehabs for various injuries, and I never had a problem with any of them. I had heard of people having trouble with kidney stone pain, and I just figured that guys were being wimps. Well, when I woke up not long ago feeling like someone was punching me repeatedly inside my lower back area, I knew I had to get to the doctor. It turned out to be kidney stones, which is how I found The Kidney Stone Removal Report review.
I am not the type of person to sit around and let nature takes its sweet time in healing me. Even with all of my injuries, none of them made me want to just fall on my knees and give up. That is how intense this pain was from kidney stones. Continue reading “Kidney Stones Can Be Very Painful”
When I was given the opportunity to present my bid in person to a large corporation I had been wooing for several months, I wanted to make sure I had all my ducks in a row. They wanted me to give a Power Point presentation, which threw everything out of whack for me since I had no idea how to even do that. I am not one to let a small thing like that become a major obstacle though. I just went online and did a search for presentation design, knowing that I would be able to find a company that would be able to create a great presentation for me to wow the corp executives into a contract. What is a climax in music? A climax is essentially the most intense and emotional part of a phrase. It is not necessarily the highest or the loudest tone, but it is the most emphatic one in the cycle of a performance phrase or a musical section. There is always a beginning, a climax and an end. The climax can occur at any point between the beginning and the end of the cycle, but usually occurs in the middle.
To really get a grasp of what a climax cycle is, let’s take some nonmusical examples. Let’s take laughter, for instance. While one is laughing, they hit a point where the laughter is most emphasized, usually followed by some sort of breathlessness (especially in the case of deep laughter) and winds down. The emphatic part is the climax. Another example would be drinking a glass of water. In the actual motion of the glass, which is changing from one point in space to another, when the bottom reaches the highest level of elevation, it technically marks the climax of that cycle. A third example would be, say, a party or an event of some sort. It may take months to plan but when the day comes and the ceremony happens, that is the climax of that cycle.
As a musician plays several phrases in any given piece of music, they hit several climaxes. This actually varies from performer to performer and is perhaps one of the most distinguishing factors in a musician. As music is not just some mechanical action and involves sense and feeling, including emotion, determining the climax and bringing it out is more of a human element than “just a mechanical” element. Therefore, it is an essential aspect for musical performances of any kind. Unfortunately, however, it is all too commonly neglected, which results in mostly mechanical “performances” which do not impart any meaning to the listener, thus actually violating the very principle of music!
How, then, can a musician remedy or improve this? There are two movements which one can do that will help you gain a sense about this. They are not just theoretical, but involve actual practical doing. Try it whether you are a musician or not. First, turn your hand so that the palm is facing up and make a fist. While listening to one performance phrase, gradually and slowly open your hand, extending it until you perceive the climax in that phrase, wherever you personally perceive the climax to be. Your hand should be entirely open and you should see your palm when the climax happens. Then gradually close your hand into a fist shape again while the cycle of that phrase ends after its climax. Repeat this action with that same phrase, over and over, until your movement is in sync with that climax cycle. Try this with other phrases as well until you feel you can do this easily.
The other movement is called “fountain like”. To do this movement, first stand up. Take one phrase and, while listening to it, gradually and slowly lift your arms above your head, much like a fountain. Your arms should be extended toward the ceiling when you perceive the climax. Then drop your arms loosely, thus concluding the embodiment of that cycle of the phrase. Again, repeat this action with that same phrase, over and over, until your movement is in sync with the climax of that piece. Try this with other phrases as well.
By doing these two movements (especially the “fountain like” one), you will actually reach a higher awareness of the climax, and, if you are a musician, this will make a marked improvement in your own ability to perform emotionally as well as technically, no matter what level you are. Please note, you will only fully comprehend this by actually DOING these movements, not just hearing about them. This is very crucial. For example, one can explain all they want what an apple tastes like to you, but if you have never actually eaten one, you will never truly understand the taste. Well, the same philosophy applies here. It is that important for one to actually DO this.
This is all part of a philosophy known as “movement education” or “body in performance”, developed by Dr. Alexandra Pierce, Professor Emeritus, University of Redlands, whom I studied under. Movement Education embodies the several aspects of music (such as phrasing) in a physical, kinetic form away from the instrument. The results are a much more meaningful performance, as music becomes much more sensational, using one’s entire existence and not just one sense, hearing.
I lived in a cramped studio all throughout college. I even shared it with two roommates at one point. I knew that I didn’t want to struggle for life, so I decided to get my Master’s degree. Because of that, I got a pretty darn good job when I graduated, and it pays really well. So, after living in such a low-brow studio for so long, I wanted something nice and unique to live in. I decicided to check out High Park real estate listings after a real estate agent told me that I would probaby enjoy some of the new offerings there. I found the best place to live in a relatively short amount of time. Continue reading “I Knew I Needed Something Different to Be Happy”

Jenny was definitely in for a big surprise. I just had to keep it a surprise.

The internet has made it possible to develop friendships with people worldwide. I was genuinely happy when a friend of mine I have never formally visited in person was getting married in Australia. I knew his bride to be because of the internet too. My wife and I looked up a company online that would send flowers in Melbourne to congratulate them on their engagement. They were so impressed with the arrangement we sent them that they decided to use the same company to do the flowers at their wedding.
It is an interesting world where we can get online and send flowers or gifts anywhere at the push of a button. If you use it the right way, it can bring you closer to people you would never otherwise meet. Continue reading “Sending Flowers to Friends in Australia Showed Me How Connected We Really Are”
I’ve been working hard in my civil engineering course. The course uses different civil engineering softwares for assignments and projects. When I first started the course, the prices for the software were so high that I couldn’t afford them. I looked around for locations where I could get a better deal on them, and found one website that was just what I needed. I didn’t expect to get so lucky, but the prices on the website were better than any other place I could find. Since finding that software for cheap, I looked for other software that I wanted for years but never got because of the price.
There was one software that people use for making 3D models for various things. There was a trial version of it that I used before, but the trial only lasted 30 days, and after that was over, the software locked me out, telling me to buy the full version. My family and I have wanted to move to Colorado for several years now. We first visited the state on a family vacation and instantly fell in love with the place. Our goal was to move to Colorado once I retired, which happened just last month. Now, my wife and I are focused on searching for luxury homes for sale in Denver Colorado. I believe that Denver is one of the more desirable areas in the state, so that is why we are focusing our search there.
A lot of factors went into her decision to move to Denver, but the sense of community that we got when we visited as tourists is one of the primary reasons. Continue reading “Moving to a New Home in Denver with My Family”
People believe in the glamour of the music business; some even consider this industry as all fun and games. Many think that once you enter the music business you will work with the most creative people, the most effective and best of the best artists. However, plenty of people do not recognize the amount of work that goes into every song.
Everyone desiring to work within the music business must learn how money works; have an eye for selecting talented artists, know how to find the right people for the right jobs, as well as fulfill many other tasks. Most people think that because they went to school and studied music they are going to be automatically employed. Regrettably, the record companies require individuals who bring not only great music and great talent with them; they require individuals who are business minded and have music promotional plan capabilities. They look for individuals who understand that entries must sell because the bills ought to be paid to survive.
You are probably surprised to know that work experience or earlier experience in the actual world is what record companies are looking for. In fact, this is applicable not only to the record companies, because this is a trend in all areas of the world. Major labels in particular do not waste time training those who are fresh out of school or those with talent but without experience. One could argue that it is left for the Indies, who are more equipped to find and develop acts with small budgets. Major labels want someone who has experience in the real world, someone who has actually gone through rounds, with operational knowledge of the industry. This person must know what it takes to produce music, establish strategic promotional plans, someone with an eye for talent, who can tell when a person is best suited to the workplace, a person who can give musical direction, and knows how to facilitate the conclusion of a music promotion plan.
Although these skills are taught in school, they learn the theory. All of us know that things cannot be taught in words or by theory. Practice experience overrides theoretical knowledge! That is why record companies choose to invest in individuals who are widely experienced. Again, here’s the deal; until you have had some actual work experience, you won’t receive a job. For those who desire to have a stake in the music business, finding a place where experience can be gained is of vital importance. Whilst academic knowledge will always add value to someone’s credibility; acquiring useful hands on success within the music business of the 21st century!
My old printer died after 20 years of use. I’ve printed a lot of documents with that printer, and have gone through many ink cartridges. I used this opportunity to get a better printer with a built in scanner so I could scan documents into my computer. While the printer is excellent, I didn’t like the scanning software that came with it. The software was pretty bloated and slow, and I didn’t like the quality of the pictures that were generated with each scan. I tried using the stock software that came with my computer for scanning, but it was only a little bit better and lack some features.
My best bet for finding software that would scan with a plethora of features without being too slow and bloated was to look online. I needed something that was free, yet still had everything I needed. While pay programs can provide good results, I prefer not to spend any money if I don’t have to for software, especially when some pay software will only let users use the software on one computer with a particular license. I have more than one device in my home that can use the printer, and would prefer not to buy multiple licenses for the same program.
I found a pretty good program with all of the features I wanted for free. The best thing about this program is that I can save each scan in multiple formats beyond just simple pictures. I can create presentation files, pdf files, and archives, which are great for sending a lot of scanned items as one file. This comes in handy when I need to fax some important documents like tax information. I usually have to do this at least twice a year when it’s time for me to renew my financial information.
It looks like hearing your favorite music can instantly place you in a great mood. But researchers are actually finding that music can perform more for you personally than simply raise your spirits.

Based on one bit of research, these two systems react sensitively to music.
When slow rhythms are performed, our bloodstream pressure and heartbeat decelerate which will help us breathe more gradually, thus reducing muscle tension within our neck, shoulders, stomach and back. And professionals state that aside from physical tension, music also reduces mental tension within our mind.
Quite simply whenever we feel discomfort, we become frightened, frustrated and angry making us tense up 100s of muscles within our back. Hearing music regularly helps our physiques relax physically and psychologically, thus assisting to relieve – and stop – back discomfort.
The study: New research from Austria’s General Hospital of Salzburg because of be printed within the Vienna Medical Weekly Journal could contain the answer to back discomfort. Within the study, 65 patients aged between 21 and 68 with chronic back discomfort after back surgery were split into two groups.
One group received standard health care and therapy. Another group also took in to music and received visualization courses of instruction for 25 minutes every single day for 3 days. Results discovered that the audience who took in to music and used imagery experienced better discomfort relief compared to group who didn’t.
Clinical psychiatrist Franz Wendtner who brought the research states: ‘Music is an integral part in our emotional and physical well being – since I was babies within our mother’s womb hearing her heartbeat and breathing rhythms.
‘Listening to music for around 25 minutes everyday not less than 10 days might help prevent back discomfort as well as cause you to sleep better.’

throughout our lives that will be songs that arouse emotion in us. You can even remember the song that his mother used to sing to you when she tucked in the night when you were just a baby. Or perhaps their first musical memory was a rhyme that you first learned as a toddler.
music can stir emotions deep within us. Bring back memories, or even bad. The film-makers have always known how music can enhance our emotions. The fear part of a movie will have scary music, the scene of love will have soft music, the Chase scene will have adventure type of music. It’s like adding a seasoning to food, with the right seasoning, you bring flavor, with the music, get the appropriate emotions.
songs could make me feel like dancing. There was something about certain hits that made you want to move. It could be a simple as wag of his head, or the hitting movement slightly of his feet to more complex movements such as John Travolta in Saturday night fever. Even some rhythms seem to dictate the type of music. A sauce will make you want to move a shape, while a hard rock song will make you want to move to another.
is there a song that brings a reminder of childhood on you? What such a song that brings back the memory of a love or a lost love? Do you remember the music that played in the Festival? Perhaps you and a special someone has a song that you share. Couples have a song that usually considered his song, the music that was playing when they had their first kiss or first dance.
test in power of music is on the way. Just see people singing the song on the radio or the CD in your car. They often suddenly have an imaginary drum located in your control panel. Heads are floating, and the hands are tapping on the steering wheel.
there is no doubt that the music is directly connected to our emotions. People are not surprising that idealize musical artist. Treat them as Kings. Particular that the artist has learned how to make something deep within you.
a times we use music to increase the State of mind in which we are. Maybe you just broke up for what they want to hear ‘ crying in the beer ‘ type of songs, or the blues. Maybe you just won something or achieved something difficult and want to hear a song that is inspiring. I know that I like to listen to “I can see clearly now the rain has gone” when you need inspiration, or need to be picked up. We use music to help us change our State of mind also. We are sad, but they want to feel happy. Music can help us to do so.
religions also uses music to instill fear, faith and inspiration. Countries that use music to help you feel patriotic. Bands to use music to wake up the team spirit. Many leaders have recognized the power of the music. Lovers to use music to seduce. Clubs to use music to make you dance and are thirsty. music in some way is linked to our emotions in ways you can’t even describe. Even now, as I write this article I have some of my favorite songs in a playlist and listen while I write. Yes, it is true, nothing quite affects the emotions that music.
everyone likes music. music is everywhere, pervades our world. Everyone knows that music has the power and importance. But you always stopped to consider why? What about music that gives so much power and importance?
here there are seven main reasons:
- music is a universal language. inspires it common gaps human feelings and bridges between cultures that languages do not. It brings together people and creates the universal community.
- music inspires and evokes emotion in a healthy way. touched our emotional being and evokes moods and feelings that sometimes are difficult to express. You can change a difficult mood and make her happy or excited; You can change a mood light and takes to the depths.

- music is a simple pleasure. all have your ears and your imagination.
I think that in the middle of the phenomenon of the magic that creates music is the spiritual aspect. Music is a gift from God, a sacred expression of the energy of Universal life force that creates all us.
music and art have both influenced by the cultures that have migrated to this country. The first type of music that developed in the Philippines was indigenous music brought here by the native tribes who migrated from Taiwan. There are three basic groups of indigenous musical styles: Southern styles, styles of the North and other styles. South of the music style usually involves five different instruments including the kulintang, the agung, the gangdinagan, the dabakan, and the babedil. The northern indigenous music styles reflect Asian music gong. His music generally includes TomTom unbossed called the Gangsa. In addition to the instruments used by the musical styles of North and South, other instruments used in the Philippines include log drums, flutes, bamboo zither and the Kudyapi.
the Hispanic cultures of Spain and Mexico have influenced the development of Filipino music. These cultures have introduced forms of music such as the Harana the Kundiman and Rondalla. Most of these forms of music developed as a result of the merger between tribal music and traditional music styles, Spanish and Mexican. Today the influence of Spain and Mexico is still present in modern Filipino music. Modern music popular in the Philippines still has a Hispanic flavor.
Philippine art has its roots in the colonial and indigenous traditions of imports. Like the majority of cultures, the Philippines has its own style of arts such as sculpture and painting. However, they also have their own style of movement as dance arts. Some of the most notable artists of the Philippines are Fernando Amorsolo, David Cortes Medal, Nunelucio Alvardao, Juan Luna, Felix Hidalgo and Rey Paz Contreras.
I was sitting around way too much this winter, the weather has been bad here and I used that as an excuse to lay around and pack on the pounds. I am trying to figure out how to get them off now, since I think that I need to lose around fifteen pounds. If I am going to try running then I need to find the best running shoes for flat feet. That is something that runs in the family. My dad spent about a week in the army and then they sent him home because he had flat feet or fallen arches, whichever it is that they want to call it.
